John keep in mind that your buddy Harold (official Obama basher) said not long ago that we should just give them a stadium.

The state of California is in the red more than some countries because their economy is larger than most countries. Nothing like perspective eh John? Of course, if you based things on perspective, the majority of your points would go out the window. Keep the Vikings here, they're good for the state and bring people from the surrounding states here to spend money. Plus, they're just fun to have. Fun is never something associated with the "money is God" crowd that thinks they should be completely privately funded.

The stadium in California was privately financed. Which is what all professional sporting arena's should be.

The state of California probably has the worst economy in the nation, yet they gave to OK to build a stadium. That speaks volumes as to what that state realizes the stadium can do for them as far as a return on their investment.

If our "star city" had an opportunity to attract a large company to the city that would provide jobs, increased real estate taxes, and income taxes, it would find a way to do it. This is no different, just on a larger scale.

If they win the Super Bowl, all you purple kool-aid drinkers will cough up the dough. Even you, Mr. Olivia.

Steve, do you pay for the building you work at? Unless you are self employed the argument of having the players pay for their own stadium makes no sense.

It would be less than a penny. We helped the Timberwolves-and they are doing so well, I believe they have won 1 game all year, we helped the Wild and they are doing , well, not much better. Don't forget the Orpheum and other artsies things. Pawlenty, let's get this done. Oh, That's right, he's not here, he's out east, south or where ever, hobnobbing with the GOP big boys, he doesn't care about Minnesota or he'd be here doing his job.
