The Potter films are commercially successful because they are artistically successful, meaning they know how to pull from the books(which for the most part are well written, and certainly quite imaginative) and capture their spirit without being a slave to the words themselves. The Twilight films are successful because apparently we can't get enough of thinly veiled, poorly written abstinence parables, with some sort of emo dust sprinkled on the prose. In other words, je ne sais pas.

No, Melissa, it is not overrated crap. There is a fan base for both. Just because you aren't a fan, don't complain. Maybe ask yourself why you are too closed-minded to appreciate it.

When will this be over. Twilight movies, as well as Harry Potter movies are overrated crap. All about the money I guess.
