So Bob, you're saying Obama and Palin should be considered the same? I don't recall Obama quitting his job as Senator. To fault a sitting elected official for running early is ludicrous as that is something every candidate has done. None of them quit, none of them gave up their duty as an elected official mid-term for this purpose, they continued to serve as best they could under the circumstances. Palin quit, period... reasons could be many.. but I'm guessing she got a better offer on a book and jumped for the money. Just what any other candidate has done... wait, just what no other candidate did. She even quit on her fans at some signings last week! You're comparing apples and oranges.

The difference being, Bob K.: Obama didn't quit his job while campaigning - Palin quit her job, not to begin campaigning but to, apparently, write a book and go on tour. In terms of comparable situations, that isn't one.

Carie L. then I guess you would agree with me then Senator Obama, elected in 2005, started running for President in 2006, was only a Senator in name. Works both ways - right?

Brian K - It is not a case of Democrats shoving Sarah Palin into the spot light. Get real. Sarah Palin is on a publicity tour, for her new book... seems to me that she's putting herself into the spot light. The democrats are not scheduling Palin's book signings, or her television interviews... remember - Sarah Palin is in charge of her own destiny here - ask her, she'll tell you - she's "gone rogue"... she's out there, in the spot light, of her own accord. If she didn't want people talking about her, she'd be at home, in Alaska... or out on the family fishing boat... out of the spot light.

Bob K - would you feel better if I said; Sarah Palin was governor for a year and a half. ?? Seriously? If I start giving her credit for the other 6 months... then I start getting even more upset with the fact that she could handle working the job for the remaining 6 little months she had left. Regardless of whther she worked the job she was elected to do for 12 or 18 months... she didn't honor her committment to the job for the full 24 months of the standard term. -- And, overall, it's a detail... just one of many that stack up on the list of reasons why she's not presidential material... and those details have nothing to do with the fact that she's a woman.

Brian K, I like Palin - and I want her to keep talking! The more news coverage she gets, the better off we are! The depth of thought and substance which she possesses is impressive. Definitely someone we need in higher office!

Craig H......give me a break. The dems push this Palin thing because they want her in the news. Most Reps and Indeps just say "whatever".......but the Dems just won't shut up about Palin......it is the Dem media that won't let it go away.......pretty childish if you ask me.....but then again I know reality, Palin will not be the nomination for the next election. The dem media use this as a side show to hide all the crapp they try to sneak through. If the Dems don't like her........they shut your traps and stop talking about it.......wow....that was hard wasn't it...............
