I have discovered a trend with the likes of Duane and Lee. When presented with facts they will go silent instead of admitting that they were wrong.

Lee I don't believe I am missing and I am certainly not "trying" anything. I watched the footage, and I took the time to find out what she claimed. Lee if you go back and read the other posts you will find that Larry, Duane, and others also recall Rep. Bachmann calling for people to not complete the whole Census. How exactly am I misleading people? I have been trying to understand why Rep. Bachmann can make these types of claims only to have it proven false later, and yet still receive support? Lee if this was about ACORN as you claim then why would GOP Representatives Westmoreland, Mica, and McHenry call her comments "illogical and illegal"? ACORN's involvement may have led to her comments, but Lee she barely even refers to them and never does when she calls on Americans to not fill out the whole Census. She even goes on to falsely link the Census with the internment of Japaneese Americans during WWII. The Census was not used it was a completly different form. A completly different form Lee just like how the questions she is opposed to are found on a completely different one and NOT the Census.

Ben, You have completely missed the forest for the trees. If that is intentional or not is anybodies guess. You completely ignored the context in which Michele made those statements. And that was when ACORN was being indicted in many states for huge amount of fradulant activities including, but not limited to, voter fraud. For awhile there was a lot of alarming information coming out and good reason for people to be cautious. After all, people were just beginning to realize that ACORN was the outfit that BHO had 'organized' for. And remember, his campaign never did say where he got so much of his millions of dollars of support because of a 'mistake' on his web site. Yeah, right! Not to mention alot of very radical anarchists, communists, socialists, ad nausium, being connected to BHO. And all you can talk about is some sheet she--according to you--mistakedly held up, while completely ignoring the bigger picture. I think they call that 'diversionary tactics.' Nice try!

Too bad I really would have liked to have heard from Duane.

Duane thought you might find this interesting. Here are the six questions asked on the first Census taking in 1790: "Name of the head of the household, number of persons living in the household, number of free white males who are sixteen years old or older living in the household;(this question told how many young men were available to drafted into wars. It also told how many young men were available to work in the industrial process.) numberof free white males who are under the age of sixteen living in the household, and the sexes and colors of all of the other persons who were living in the household." Wow Duane it appears those nasty Founding Fathers were trying to dig into areas of ones life that was not their business! How dare they ask such questions!! Oh and yes you likely did fill out a longer form in 2000, as back then there were two different Census forms sent out. However like I said the 2007 Congress, which included Rep. Bachmann, passed this Census and discontinued the long form. So Duane what say you about this? Seems like the Constitution Article One Section Two had NO PROBLEM with the questions I just posed to you here, and frankly I believe the questions ask this time are far less intrusive than back then. So I ask you again Duane and anyone else who would please respond, Shouldn't Representative Bachmann retract what she said and tell the American public that the form that she was photographed holding and the questions that she is so opposed to that she is calling for all Americans to NOT fill out the whole form is in fact NOT the 2010 Census and that she is wrong to suggest to any American that they should go against the Constitution and not fill out the whole 7 question Census?

I don't care what Mr. Brown did for a living. I just remember how upset you were when a man who made his living as a comedian/writing for a comedian became a Senator and thought you were probably having a difficult time with this also. You know how i hate hypocrisy

Duane to answer your question, Yes I have looked at, and I even posted about it yesterday, "The 2010 Census questionnaire will be sent to every housing unit in the country. The person in who fills out the form (Person 1) will provide the household information, including whether the home is rented or owned, and will answer just seven questions about every household member, including himself or herself: •Name. •Sex. •Age/birth date. •Hispanic ethnicity. •Race. •Relationship to the person filling out the form. •Other residence, for example, military or college residence, if they sometimes live at another address." And Duane Rep. Bachmann in her press conference on this matter was in fact NOT holding up and showing a copy of the Census, and the questions she talked about and was offended by were NOT on the Census. She held up a copy of the ACS and the questions were from that yearly survey. As to your constitution comment, I wonder if that is true given that fact that the first census was taken in 1790 I believe and actually included more questions than the one we will fill out this year. 1790 Duane is pretty much on the heals of the Constitiution being signed so why would there be more questions on that first Census than just one IF it was Unconstitiutional?

Ben C. I just looked up the census There are 10 questions. http://2010.census.gov/2010census/how/interactive-form.php You are only required in the constitution to fill out #1 which asks how many are in the residence, you don't need to fill out the rest. That is what Bachmann is referring to.
