let's use cap and trade on the energy issue as an example. what we've been hearing ad naseum is James Hanson of NASA. With our own US tax dollars, this guy is on a run away mission that will decimate US industry. Corporations (yes those evil tax paying entities) can now have a chance to present their case. I have to believe you've already made up your mind (just like Hanson) and even a billion dollar campaign won't sway you. However, it might cause other voters to ponder and question what they have been told. Im not sure if your afraid of the counter arguments or what it is? I really think the American people can formulate their own opinions. but not when they have been consistently presented with only one side of that issue.

Who's sides of the issues are we going to be able to hear now? Unions and Corporations? How is that beneficial to the electoral system? The voter - the individual voter - is getting more buried by the day... there's already too much possiblity of corruption in the political arena - this new ruling is somehow going to tamper that? I don't think so - I think we're going to be looking at "President Exxon", shortly. -- and card checking?? What a joke. I tend to be called, by others, liberal... and even I know what a scam card checking is.

You don't have me revved up Larry, and I'd prefer to stay on topic. This ruling will work against both parties AND joe six pack equally. I find it interesting that you think this will allow you to "hear both sides of the issues at play" - How exactly will it help in that regard?

are we going to buy candidates just like we used to buy slaves? the highest bidder automatically secures the post? the way you make it sound we might not even get to vote in the elections! you make it sound like it's a done deal. I guess I view this as a chance to hear both sides of the issues at play. I am really hoping we are not the helpless zombies you make the electorate out to be! As long as I've got you revved up...what do you think about "card check" in the union organizing legislation proposals?

I really don't think you do understand the consequences of this ruling, Larry - for both parties and the country. It isn't about MoveOn.org. It isn't about Education Minnesota. No union is going to be able to compete with corporate interests. If you think this is a positive, play field leveling move - you're nuts! I wonder how many of the companies that can now back their own personal candidate have unlimited foreign born interests and cash flow... What if 2 or 3 of these MASSIVE GLOBAL COMPANIES start pooling their resources? Now imagine that those massive companies have a radically liberal world view. Uh-oh! Teddy was Right!
