joe r., you have to be commended on your support of the stimulus package but your post this morning left your credibility of the information in suspect. First, The CBO only scores legislation and projects proforma results of the legislation, so your source of reporting actual number results is suspect or are maybe wrong using that source. Had you said the numbers were coming from the Labor Department or from the governments reporting site, under the supervision of VP Biden, questions and suspicions of the information would not have been raised as much but still suspect to verification. If you would provide a link to the CBO numbers as you posted, directly to the Georgia results, i would appreciate to learn the information. By the way, in checking the unemployment % for Georgia, I find it interesting. Unemployment %beginning July - 10.3%, Aug - 101%, Sept - 10.1%, Oct - 10.1%, Nov = 10.1%, Dec - 10.3%, leads one to believe despite your posts of Georgia adding jobs from the stimulus, they were in rea;ity being oofset with greater job losses. http://www.dol.state.ga.us/pdf/pr/lf_georgia.pdf So again, would welcome the site link you took your information from.

Obama's stimulus package has created more jobs then some want to give him credit for, not to mention that experts claimed if the stimulus did not happen, there would have been many more layoffs, along with businesses failing. The stimulus was not going to be the total cure, and everyone knew that, but on the posittve side, and this comes from some leading private economists which states 1.5 million jobs were created. Georgia generated 1500 more jobs and these figures were also backed up by non-partisan congressional budget office. Experts stated without the stimulus we would have seen two million more people without jobs. The five billion clean energy stimulus created 50,000 jobs, and is predicted to create at least 760,000 jobs by the yr 2012. The economy grew some because of the stimulus and surely would have shrunk if it did not get approved. Like I stated before sometimes you may need to spend a little money to make money, but some conservatives insist that the stimulus did nothing, but don't provide proof that the money just went up in smoke! The big reasons some experts give why the conservatives will continue to attack the stimulus is merely a power play. They want to show that the other party is no better, and have failed as badly as their party did. The conservatives are the ones trying to state the stimulus was the miracle worker when it was only a starting point. No one really knew how bad the economy was when Bush left office, untill the real damage became evident. One year proves nothing, but the first year of the Obama era was still better then the four years Bush put in, and that is a fact. There is no defection of Democrats from their party, and Obama, as some conservatives want people to believe. Political parties always have conflcits within their parties, and it is no different. If elected party members whether they are Republican or Democrats are elected its their job to represent their party sure, but their loyalty is with the voters, and their district they represent.
