Brett are your really that ignorant? YOU have been claiming that the Census should only be about counting people, I have been saying that the Census from its very begining was about more than that, which is why there are more than one question. BUT it is NOT what Michelle Bachmann is claiming it is. That is my point, she is making false claims and you people are falling for it. Like I said to John, if you want to continue to suggest that our Government can not be trusted to do a task that it has been doing since 1790, and if you feel our Government is so corrupt and the likes of Michelle Bachmann are speaking the truth, then get up and demand that our troops come home NOW! There is nothing for them to fight for, and we should not be expecting other countries to be more like us.

Brett who are those people in the home? Does it matter? Does it matter if the person is old enough to contribute to society? Would it be benefical for states to know how many in the households are school age so as to better budget for education? How about those in the business world would it be benefical to know how many people in their area are of work age or younger or older so as to best plan for their future business? How about health care would it be a benefit to know the ages of people so as to better prepare for longterm care needs?

John is there anything that Government does that you support? At what point are you and others simply going to call for an overthrow of our Government system? Where will this end? That is my point John, and no I am not being naive what I am is greatly troubled that we have allowed the extreme rhetoric of the radical far Left and Right to create a hatred for our Government. IF we can't trust our Government John then you should be standing on top of the mountain demanding that our men and women in the armed services to be brought home. What in God's name are they fighting for? Our American ideals? Our American principles? How can we have any of these if we do not trust those whom WE send to represent us in Government? If you guys don't like or trust our Government then do one of two things, Move or Overthrow it. I simply ask one thing, if you choose the later please give me a heads up so I can get my family safely out of here.

Yep Ben, that's the one I got, the ACS form . I googled it and yep, even needed to know how many rooms were in my house. It was very invasive. I will never fill that out again.

Brett you have never studied American History have you? There has NEVER been a Census with one question. The first Census taken in 1790 had 7 questions and many of the Founding Fathers supported the taking of that Census. The purpose of the Census is more than simply counting people. Like I said it helps with funding decisions for how to use Federal dollars. Why don't you go to the Census website and look at the questions for yourself.

Casey you filled out the ACS form it goes out yearly to approxamently .00028% of Americans and it is NOT THE CENSUS. You can check out why the do it and what the information is used for on the Census website.

Again people the Census has been part of our Country since 1790 back then they asked only about the males in house and which were free and which were slaves. It is sad to read so many comments of mistrust with regards to the Census and how the Government uses the information. We are only hurting ourselves by not filling it out. We teach our children to honor and respect authority, including our Government but we in turn accuse it of all sorts of false claims. I guess I understand now how Michelle Bachmann gets elected, FEAR and people from both parties are full of that. 10 questions are all that are asked, and none of them are those that many of your have refered to. Take the time and read them for yourselves.

Brett @ 7:33, I agree with you on that one, but lets go one further, instead of address, we just use zip code :) I was so upset over the last census, I think they even wanted to know what colors everybodies undies were! It was very invasive and I must have had the long one cause I could have written a novel with all the answers I had to give, AND then, they had the nerve to send me another one five years later!
