My bad Bob. That is what he said about Obama. I guess I went over your head. You were the one that linked a msnbc poll. I don't think your missing much. They don't have much for ratings anywhere on that channel.

The rules and history change whenever liberals gain power. Remember Bush lied. Obama misspoke.

Is it possible to express one's opinion on matters relating to current political themes without the name calling? And, when referring to the President of the United States of America, despite anyones political affiliation, is there proper protocol to be followed when it comes to addressing he/ she? Can a level of respect for one another be achieved by properly addressing those who hold office? Isn't how we refer to our elected officials, a direct reflection on the attitude we have towards the office they hold?

It looks like a good and interesting book Rick. From the bits and pieces I have found it certainly would support the "cheerful giver" belief.

No I haven't read the whole thing yet Ben. It seems from the reviews and articles about it that I have read, he compares his statistics in various ways, cross tabulations if you will. Some people like his quotes on religious institutions others use his liberal vs conservative comparisons. If after I read it I get any different information I will pass it along.

Rick I checked that link, thanks again, I am not so sure that the quote you have shared from Brooks is in the proper context. His study does show what you stated that those active in church are good givers, but from what I read I don't think he necessarly links church attenders only with conservatives, unless he breaks down the difference between professed conservatives and professed liberal church attenders. Did you read the whole book? Is he connecting the two?
