Why is it that the libs always try and link abortion with the death penalty? An unborn child has done nothing wrong and deserves a chance at life, no matter how screwed up his parent or parents are. Their are other option like adoption, which does not hurt any one or take anything away from anyone else. People deserving of the death penalty have done something wrong. They have taken a life away. I am not saying that I agree with the death penalty. I do not see a problem with just letting them rot in jail. I know these murders cost money to keep a live, but still I am not so sure that it is our right to kill them. With that being said, I can see some instances that make a good claim for the death penalty. Back to my point, why do libs attempt to link the two together? Not to mention that their reasoning when linking them is completely flawed. By their reasoning it is the libs that should be forming lynch mobs for every crime.

Rick doesn't Brooks comment here make a major false assumption: "People who attend a house of worship give four times more money per year than people who don't," he said. "For people who are deeply religious, there is the notion that religion or religious behavior and charity come from the same God-given impulse. In other words, God makes you charitable." Kristi Hamrick, a spokeswoman for American Values, said Brooks' research is a breath of fresh air for conservatives tired of being lambasted by liberals as selfish." I don't want to take it out of context as I have not read the whole piece but based on what you posted it seem the assumption is that only Conservatives are deeply religious.

I'm not researching it, but could Al have had kids in college in 1997 that he was paying for? Could it be that he may have gave more, but only claimed that on his taxes so he would pay more in taxes? You know, he didn't take as much of a tax deduction as he could have.... Just wondering.

Jesus preached personal resposnibility for caring for the less fortunate, liberals preach government responsibility for caring for the less fortunate. In other words, Followers of Jesus believe in giving of thier own to help the poor, liberals believe in taking from the Followers of Jesus and giving to the poor. BIG difference, lee.

I particularly liked this Info quoted from the La Times joe. "In 1997 for instance, Al and Tipper Gore contributed just $353 to charity, a sum that raised eyebrows even in friendly media circles. The Los Angeles Times noted, for instance, that the Gores' slender donation "caused some bewilderment in philanthropic circles because of the vice president's 'good guy' image as an advocate for public service and social causes." The same year the Gores gave $353 to charity, they reported $197,729 in adjusted gross income. Quite impressive huh joe?
