I bought a used 1991 4*4, 4cyl. Toyota pickup with 51K in 1993; I sold it for $1000 in 2005 with 269K. I loved that truck; it was very dependable and got decent gas mileage. I only wish I had it long enough to reach 300K.

If the accelerator ever sticks shift it into neutral, turn the key to off and steer to the shoulder.

Having been driving Toyota Camrys since 1993. We bought a new 2009 last yr and several months later our accelerator stuck, it went up to 80 miles an hour, but it wouldn't stop by using the brakes, so my husband turned the key off and steered it to the side of the road ( very scary experience).Went to the dealer and they said it was the floor mats, so ordered new Camry floormats. It hasn't happened again, but it worries me every time I drive it. Hope they get this problem solved soon, beacuse we do like Camrys and they are very dependable cars. P.S. Just hope it nevers happens again.

Have a 2003 Sequoia with 140,000 miles, absolutely love it and have had no problems. My daughter has a Toyota Avalon with 150,000 miles which we purchased used; it runs perfectly and we have only replaced the battery. I have also owned two Toyota Tercels, both got superb gas mileage and never had an engine problem. I am a loyal Toyota owner, wouldn't drive anything else.

Have an 08 Tacoma, no problems. Toyota is really nice, and even now after all these recalls, if they offered me a like non Toyota made vehicle I would choose to keep mine.

As a Toyota Owner I don't think they have to have to worry about customer loyalty. I thought this recall was voluntary, am I mistaken? We have a Corolla, 150k, I replaced an interior door handle, $10.00. I have always gotten 35+ mpg highway.

- Had a Previa with 185K miles that I sold for $2200 in 2001 that I still see driving around today. - Bought a Sequoia in 2001. It has 175K miles today and we use it for everything (from hauling stuff to cruising on family trips). Love it. - Bought a '97 Camry (with 94K miles) in 2004 for $6000. Today this car is still going strong with 269,000 miles. What a buy. Can't beat Toyotas.

Wow Douglas, I didn't know you could even do that anymore. It used to be you could save a couple of hundred dollars by going manual instead of automatic. Did you save or did they charge extra now because it was a "special order"?

I bought a 2010 Prius last fall through the cash for clunkers program. I've been delighted with it, though I am being extra careful now in slowing down, waiting until it gets recalled and the anti-lock system checked out. To be honest, none of the car companies have a great record in admitting problems until they are forced to - too bad Toyota is no different from Ford and GM! Richard, Willmar
