Gambling seems to bring down the best law abidding citizen. Look at those who stole thousands from their employees or committed fraud to get money to gamble, all in the name of making it big with a winning jackpot. The sorry part of all this gambling is they you really never win, the only winners are the those who own casinos or other gambling organiztions.

Only a "dummy" would say this is a partisan issue. It's clearly not.

We are talking about adding slot machines at already exisiting gaming facilities, this is not an expansion of gambling they are not talking about building new casinos. Oh and Harold you have gone off so many times that I am sure that you already have forgotten, but you have always maintained that the DFL will never support this because they are in the back pockets of the Native Americans, well Harold the loudest voice against this is REPUBLICAN Gov. Tim Pawlenty! I really dare you to come out and say that the Governor is in the pocket of the Native American Casino owners. I take that back, I double dog dare you!

Harold. What does it matter what Sparks is? Is that what you need to know in order to make up your mind about this legislation? Geez. I thought you'd be thrilled, because that head-case Dick Day is running the whole thing. He was on TV tonight, at the podium, with Juhnke. He was laughing so hard he had to take a potty break. He's acutally got democrat's carrying the flag for his regressive-tax, hatred toward indians (NA's), agenda.

Help. I have looked high and low and can not find out if Sen. Sparks is a DFLer looking for re -election as is Rep. Al J. or if he is really trying his best to help us Minnesotans with the short fall of funding for our ones that need i t. Where is he in the Senate , right or left.?

Don't have a heart attack but I am in 100% agreement with you steve p. This is not good for the people or the state in general.

I am very disappointed with Al Juhnke's sponsorship. The state should not be involved with this, at all. Working class people historically provide the bulk of the revenue for these operations. A highly re-gressive tax. Gambling revenue to supplement the budget? What would our scandinavian ancestors think about that? There are enough woes in Juhnke's district, that need help, NOW. This is very disappointing.

Geez Harold NOTHING will please you. Folks do you get it yet?? Harold could care less about American Democracy, he doesn't believe in it nor does he want it. Harold wants a dictatorship plain and simple. BIPARTISAIN! Dick Day has been bringing this up and now we have a DFL Representative leading the push. Great to see and even better to see who could benefit from this.

I love the people that oppose this. Your agaisn't a industry that is already here? I think what will be great about this, we will be able to follow the exact money trail come election time. People that oppose this and defeat this will somehow have 4 times the money for their campain budgets, thus winning re-election. Its a sad day when you realize exactly how this political game is played. He with the money makes the rules. Its time we take money out of politics. Everyone gets the same amount of money to run on. Period. No more special interests and no more lobbyists. Weeeeeee.....let the ride begin.

unbelievable , I hope it isn't just showmanship for Al J.. Y'all know it is a election year.My comment. the powers to be, DFLers in Majority ownership in St Paul, pogenmiller and kehilleher are not going to let this happen. No way will the DFLers give up their CASH COW that the DFLers did for the Native Americans when t hey gave them t he only rights for gambling in the State. This they did 30-40 years ago with DFLer R. P signing it, and by doing so gave DFLer R.M. the Key to the Mn. SEnate. Ever sense the Native Americans have given the Mn. DFLers enoughtmoney to buy any election, any place in Minn year after year, In the mean time , this work is a vote getter for Al. J. --note-- maybe next we will see Al J. working on a bill to help t he uninsured . Could be a small tax or two increase to give some relief to the ones that need it. Another vote getter for him. , this election year.
