"the court ruled that the phrase, "In God we Trust" is patriotic not religous. So, saying "In God we Trust" and "One Nation, Under God" is an American catch phrase. It's like saying, "as American as apple pie". Yes and when they rule that green is red and white is black I will believe that too. But hey, if someone wants to trust or worship in apple pie that alright with me. LOL Some folks around here would fit very nicely into Orwell s 1984.

One of my favorite quotes from Justice Joseph Story Supreme Court Justice, 1811-1845. Justice Story explained in his Commentaries: “The real object of the [First A]mendment was not to countenance, much less to advance, Mahometanism, or Judaism, or infidelity, by prostrating Christianity; but to exclude all rivalry among Christian sects.” Story, Commentaries, Vol. III, p. 728, §1871.

Guys, the court ruled that the phrase, "In God we Trust" is patriotic not religous. So, saying "In God we Trust" and "One Nation, Under God" is an American catch phrase. It's like saying, "as Amercian as apple pie". Futhermore, the term God in all these sayings isn't refering to a Christian God. I believe it refers to pretty much anything. The term God in my opinion is meant to stand for your faith and beliefs even if it means that you have none. An atheist shouldn't have a problem saying "One nation, under God" or reading "In God we trust" so long as he/she remembers that the term God is being used loosely. I believe that God is in charge of everything myself and I don't see my God as belonging to any human religion. God to me is everything and everyone.
