garylierman l......its not about being forced to buy insurance...it is whether people are smart enough with the money they do have to buy it on their own. People gripe about the high cost of insurance but then they go out and spend $500 on a playstation or $80 for each game. Wouldn't you say that those costs are high compared to the value of the purchase as well?

Terrance P.........ahhhh they have health care. Once again you fail to understand that there is a difference between health care and health insurance. When you separate the two, then you can see that this bill is the worst thing for the country. Too many people are combining these two items together to make their points. This bill can't stand on its own when you combine both health care and health insurance together. If you want to fix the problem correctly, it is two separate bills....but what do I know huh?

That's part of the problem problem Gary, people wait for the government to tell them what to do. RICHMOND — The Virginia General Assembly has given final approval to a bill that would make it illegal for the government to require individuals to purchase health insurance, a measure intended to conflict with Democratic efforts to reform health care in Washington. Thirty-four other states are weighing similar legislation to block the individual mandate, which is an element of bills that have passed both the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives. But Virginia is the first state to complete legislative action on such a bill. Gov. Robert F. McDonnell said Wednesday that he intends to sign the legislation. The Washington Post

Brian W. As usual, you failed to answer my question. But to humor you, since you seem to know "about" how many states have laws precluding the need to buy health insurance, what penalty is imposed on people who can't afford insurance but live in states that by law require everyone have it? And what might those states be? As Harold would say, "my comment": VA never notified me that I didn't need health insurance. Lots of money I could have saved over the years. Shucks!!

Janet- if you Google life expectancy by country, you may want to retract your statement about the U.S. being the place to reach 90 or 100. We aren't even close to being the longest-lived people in the world. Also how can you claim to be so pro-life, while opposing the right of millions of Americans to have adequate health care? Do you not see your blatant hypocrisy? I do and you are deplorable for wanting to deny millions of people the same chance for quality health care that you apparently enjoy. I hope you don't also claim to be a Christian with your barbaric views on who deserves to live or die.

Actually Lee miscarriages here are recorded as aborted. We had one and questioned that, but I guess technically the pregnancy was aborted though in our case it was naturally.

Scott you are way out in LEFT field on your comments about our health care not being the BEST in the world. The World Health Organization rankings are laughable. One way they manipulate data is on infant mortality. In this country we justly count infant life from the first breath and if it dies after that it is listed as a death. The Dutch on the other hand and others with SOCIALIZED medicine don't county infant deaths until 24 hours after delivery, others register a certain weight as AUTOMATICALLY stillborn. Correctly analized only the Scandinavian countries best the US as they do not have the large percentage of low income, poorly educated immigrant population that the US has. You will have a better chance of seeing 90 or even 100 in the US than in any other country -- until we pass OBAMA CARE -- then tough luck Scott!!

Scott, What kind of whacko leftist sight was that anyway? No wonder you come with the ideas you do. Anyway....As I said earlier, your whole premise is wrong. Of course their longevity is longer IF THEY DON'T COUNT MISCARRAIGES AND WE DO!!!!!!! And this is just one example I put forward. The web site you provided didn't prove that they were being honest about reporting statistics. Blanket statements like that are put out there to deceive people. Plain and simple!
