The parents weren't there because they had sent their daughter to the festival with their 'church group'. When this article first came out, many questioned 'where were the chaperones' of the church group? I heard the church group chaperones provided 'beverages' for everyone...which likely palyed a part in the girl's 'memory' of who she was with.

Fact is she obviously lied about being "sexually assaulted" by this guy and his name got drug threw the mud and published in a paper. Who knows what else he went threw. All because this girl lied...and she will suffer no consequence's for that lie. Hummm....what did she learn by this. What did he learn? What did you learn?

No Julie, I'm not blaming him. I said, if my memory is correct, he admitted to a relationship during the festival. That was a long time ago, so I could be wrong. But if his relationship, if he had one, was not with this girl, then who was it with? Not that it matters, but it shows that maybe there are a lot of causual encounters going on at this festival, especially with her having DNA evidence and two tested not involved. If I remember correctly, the girl went to the festival with a youth group from her church. Parents were not there, chaperones were. The kids had a fire and were drinking. This girl had a crush on this guy and her chaperone knew about. I may be off on some of this, so don't take it as fact.

The fact is someone’s DNA was on the girls cloths, it may not have been his but something went on that should not have.

13 years old. where were the parents? who was she there with? that being said , I question the morals of the girl as much as the guy!!!! my 13 year old wouldn't be seen sharing a blanket with an older guy like that. glad he was cleared. being falsely accused sucks. I"m sure he already had to spend alot of money on lawyers, which is most likely the reason DNA was done in the first place. Almost sounds like you are still blaming the guy Casey.

I feel bad for this young man that he has been trashed by this story, however...what was he thinking "sharing" a blanket with at 13 year old?! Give her the blanket... Alot of this could have benn eliminated by that. Also if he did say he was in a relationship with this girl what is he thinking? Where were these chaperones? why were the parents not there? People wake up and take care of your children! The blame for all of this can go out to many.

Mark, if my memory is correct, when this first came to light, he admitted he had a "relationship" with her. Now, if not this girl, then what girl did he have a relationship with? If my memory is correct, I think many comments were directed at the chaperones, which should still be directed at them. Obviously she had contact with somebody with the DNA evidence.... I'm glad we have DNA to clear or convict people, but DNA is not 100%. Some people have more than one set of DNA, depending on where the sample is taken from. It's called chimera.

Now where are all the comments? When this story broke there were plenty of comments about "HIS" character and none were very complimentary. Now that DNA cleared him, maybe you that left those nasty comments should now comment your "APOLOGY"! And the girl and parents need to do the same, maybe not publically but at least face to face, he deserves this. I'm waiting to read all those apologies!!
