And if the money works better at another institution (district)...great! And if the sub-standard district loses (fails)...so be it... kind of sounds like capitalism and America. oops forgot...we are a socialistic nation these days...No WONDER we are failing!

That's the problem Kathy, if parents want the voucher so their child or children can get a better education else where then there is a problem with the district. Fix it! And money isn't the answer Kathy. The money should follow the students.

The voucher system may provide some students with greater personal opportunities, but these same opportunities are paid for at the cost of the whole school district that child is exiting. For every child that uses a voucher, the district loses money ,chipping away at the entire district's abilities to provide programs and hire teachers to limit.class sizes. So when you say "vouchers work" you may be mistaken.

The problem is there is no way to get rid of bad teachers. Vouchers work. The govt. has proved over and over again bigger does not make better. Again I ask why is abortion the only thing that dems want to give a person choice on? As for you Christopher you should be ashamed of youself.

Ben C. John and Lynn seemed to like our democratic process and form of government when Dumbo was in office, so what's changed?

Vouchers, charter schools, mainstreaming, increased student population with special learning needs (ESL) are all sucking public school funds. We have saddled good teachers with impossible NCLB standards dealing with a student population we never saw 10-15 years ago then wonder why students all don't perform optimally.

Chris it isn't about race with lynn and John it is about the fact they really don't like America and our democratic process and form of government. Your right about the family piece Chris but I don't ever see us going back to those days of Leave it to Beaver. It would be great if we could do that, but I think more realistic is that we need to figure out how to do better while allowing both parents to work.
