Let me explain myself ~ I personanly dislike the concept of big goverment, this is one huge step towards big(ger) goverment, hence the reason it makes me sick to my stomach. It saddens me to see how we have disregarded the principles that this country was built on. It makes me scared for my children, what kind of mess we are making for them to deal with. I am not spouting of partisan reterek (sp?), like you seem to be Paul S. I think our country has gotten so excited to be on the crest of this "great and historic event", that they have failed to see the long term problems of this type of goverment control. Our country seems to be more concerned with making history, in any way they can, than in making sure that the history they are making is something our children and grandchildren can live with.

It's really appalling to see how easy it is to coerce right wingers into fighting against the very health care legislation that will provide the most benefits to them. Just keep them in their conservative cocoons hearing only the right wing propaganda 24 hours a day on Faux News ("fair and balanced"-ridiculous!), and the daily dronings of Rush, Hannity, Beck, and the other modern day Tokoyo Roses. I haven't read one word here from the right condemning the actions of the tea party mobs in Washington, D.C. who hurled racial and sexual ephitets at members of Congress, even spitting on one Congressman. Your silence speaks loudly.... apparently you stand right with these reprehensible cretins who don't even realize they are fighting against their own best interests, because they are too blinded by hatred for President Obama. Well, you just lost- and America won. Real Americans are rejoicing and they realize that our country is a better country now for ALL of it's citizens- not just the wealthy and the powerful and the corporate elite.

I don't know what is the bad thing for a nation to make sure all its country men/women are medically covered. This should be one of the basic rights...... To have insurance shouldn't be one of the things only rich can afford or be affordable only after you spend money from your food and utility. Car insurance is mandatory, so having health insurance is less imp? Can't our senetors and reps , don't care Republican, Democrats, Independents put the petty politics aside and work for the country not for the lobbyst etc. Why can't a person get insurance with pre-existing condition. Why is it a struggle for a sick person to keep there insurance and on top of that to keep having to beg insurance companies to approve there needed medicine for their illness ranging from cancer to other serious illness. We are the super power, we help and support millions of people in the world, why can't we take care of our own citizens by making sure all Americans have basic human rights along with equal access to health care. Our Gov. provides medical help to people outside the US as part of humanatarian aid through UN and other agencies regardless of there pre-existing conditons, US navy ship hospitals are there to help the needy. Then why not also make sure that Americans in America can also have the medical help they need and when they need. Charity starts at Home.

Paul S........obviously you aren't a tax payer. congrats on winning free money, its too bad you had to dump all over the Constitution to make that happen. Hope things work out the next 4 years until we actually start caring about those without health care........remember, it was soooooooo important to pass this to help them. So the next 4 years.......think of how many will die because of the new health plan.....I mean something could have been done to help them tomorrow. Maybe not freebie care but at least something little to help, right now then dont' have any more than they did yesterday. This is one Indep that will NEVER vote for another Dem again. I was about 60-40 but not it will be 100-0 in against the Dem candidate. Bye bye dont let the door hit you in.............

Well Shanon you are in luck. Your sick stomach may have be a pre-existing condition, which under this legislation insurance companies cannot deny you coverage. This is far from a liberal bill. It is very similar to the bill introduced by Republicans in 1994, to counter the Clinton attempt at health care reform. You folks have to stay home from Tea party rallies, turn off FOX news, and get some accurate information. The real Political debate was within the Democratic party. Blue dogs, vs progressives, and everything in between. The republicans are no longer a political party. They are a cult. Just asked former Republican statesmen, now retired. Dave Durnberger, Arne Carlson, (who no longer says he is a Republican) and as of late, Sen. Alan Simpson. Tonight was a great and historic event. However it is not over, it is just the beginning. Hopefully over time we can strengthen this bill until single payer option is passed.
