Exhibit puts front and center the ‘gateway to Renville County’

You will wonder why we have turned our backs on the Minnesota River, once you’ve seen the traveling display “Minnesota River: Gateway to Renville County.’’ This display makes apparent just how vital and central a role the river has played in Renville County’s history. It’s a history lesson that Jill Wohnoutka, director of the Renville County Historical Society, had in mind as she put the display together as part of the Minnesota Sesquicentennial observance. She said the river has always been very important to the county. She hopes the exhibit offers people a chance to discover anew “what we have here.’’
