Emily Knight, 8, of Brooten, left, and Abby Anderson, 10, of Willmar, were among nearly 300 helpers who gathered Wednesday to bag dry mix meals at the Atwater Community Center for the Kids Against Hunger program. People from church groups, Scouts and service organizations from across the area congregated for the 7th annual event. According to its Web site, Kids Against Hunger was founded in Minnesota in 1999 and since then the organization has provided more than 100 million servings of food to destitute children in 32 countries.
