Kyle Anderson, left, and Doug Pierzina of the Department of Natural Resource’s fisheries staff in Ortonville clip the fins of walleye they stocked in Lac qui Parle Lake. On Monday, they had 75 pounds or about 450 fish to stock. DNR fisheries workers are clipping the ventral or pectral fin of each yearling walleye stocked into Lac qui Parle to make it possible to monitor the effectiveness of the stocking program. They will clip the fins on 2,500 pounds of yearling walleye — roughly 25,000 fish — this season.(Tribune photos by Tom Cherveny)
