BROOTEN — Leona L. Halverson, 93, of Brooten, died June 2.
The service will be at 12:30 p.m. June 20 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home Chapel in Sauk Rapids. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Brooten.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Arrangements are by Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud.
She was born June 3, 1915, in Tolley, N.D., to Fredrick and Lillian (Markell) Schmidt.
She married Rodney Halverson on Aug. 12, 1946, in Minot, N.D. They settled in Brooten. Rodney died Jan. 12, 1956. From 1958 to 1991, she owned and operated Lee-Mark Beauty Nook salon in Brooten.
She was active in Trinity Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, the church council, Sunday School, and was a charter member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Community Chapel.
Leona is survived by her son: Mark (and Helena); three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and three sisters.
