MONTEVIDEO — James Jaspersen, 79, of Montevideo died Monday at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo.
MONTEVIDEO — James Jaspersen, 79, of Montevideo died Monday at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo.
The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and evening with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
He was born on Oct. 1, 1930, in Tyler to Jens and Elise (Kristensen) Jaspersen. He graduated from Tyler High School in 1948.
He married Dolores Kock on Feb. 3, 1951, in Lake Benton. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954. They lived at Tyler until 1966 when they moved to Montevideo. There he owned and operated Monte Block and Tile Company. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he served as a trustee.
He is survived by his wife; three sons: Craig (and Lisa) Jaspersen of Pipestone, Mark (and Kerry) Jaspersen and Scott Jaspersen, all of Montevideo; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by nine brothers and three sisters.
