Inch-an-hour snow expected all morning in Duluth region
The winter storm took longer than expected to move into the Twin Ports, but it’s packing a wicked wallop now with heavy snow and winds gusting to more than 50 mph at the head of Lake Superior. In Duluth, 3.6 inches had fallen at the airport by 8 a.m. but it was coming at a rate of an inch per hour and heavy snow is expected all morning, said Kevin Krujalis, assistant forecaster at the National Weather Service in Duluth.
