There is no doubt why he left the scene or maybe never realized he ran over someone, but we can wait until after the investigation is complete. Thank goodness the victim is doing better

Kelly G, The explaination by Laurie K makes alot of sense in answering your questions. It seems we always want a quick resolution to incidents that sometimes require a more thorough, calculated approach.

It is a SHAME that no charges have been filed. If it was truly an "accident" why would the driver leave the scene? Makes no sense what-so-ever. Innocent until proven guilty? Seems to me that if you leave the scene - your guilty!

They are most likely waiting for the results of the toxicology tests to determine appropriate charges.

I am very confused!!! Why, why, why have charges not been filed. I do not wish ill will on this person, however he needs to be held accountable for his actions. He drove over a blind man then left the scene. Is this a failure of the system? A failure of the PD? Incorrect information? What is the reason? Who can answer these questions? This is absolutely appalling!

Thank God that he is doing better, but we need to keep those prayers going as it sounds like he has a long ways to go. I can well imagine how worried the dog must have been; those dogs are trained to keep the blind person out of danger and the poor animal must have suffered immense emotional trauma. Thanks to the folks at the hospital who understand how important it was to reunite them!
