Letter: A vote for the next generation
Statistics from many sources have shown that U.S. school children are not keeping up with the rest of the world, especially in the career areas of math, science and technology. Our children attend school for fewer days each year and fewer hours each day than children in other industrialized nations.
In the Willmar School District, we have an opportunity to change that if we vote "yes" for the operating levy on Nov. 2.
Administrative staff, teachers, paraprofessionals and school board members need to put their time, talents, and energies toward positive planning rather than "where can we cut?" Let's not shortchange the next generation.
