WILLMAR — More than 60 local Diamond Edge Figure Skaters will present "Fire & Ice" at 7 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday at the Willmar Civic Center.

Fire and ice are two of the world's most powerful expressions of nature and the skaters will highlight them with choreography, synchronized to fire and ice musical renditions.

The show will have a lights-out number and highlight a talented guest skater who's an expert in artistic choreography, Izzi Gorowsky.

Gorowsky is 16 years old and currently a sophomore at Mounds View High School in Arden Hills. She started skating when she was 4 years old on an outdoor rink. She skates outside as much as possible, choreographing and practicing her programs.

She really enjoys the artistic side of skating. She was a member of the artistic mini-ensemble team that won the 2012 USFS National Showcase.

She won 2013 Young Artists Showcase Grassroots Choreography Challenge and the 2014 and 2015 Quest for Creativity Competitions.

Gorowsky competed at the 2016 ISI Worlds competition and received four first-place awards for her artistic events. She skated in the American Ice Theatre's "Let's Dance" ice show two years ago and has been fortunate to work with many talented skaters and choreographers.

Advanced tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students, and are available at Cash Wise Foods in Willmar or from a Diamond Edge Figure Skating family member; ages 3 and under will be admitted free with paid adult. Tickets purchased at the door will be $12 for adults and $7 for students.
