Willmar woman killed at residence, sheriff seeking information from public

WILLMAR — The woman found dead in her residence Monday afternoon on the east side of Willmar is Lila Warwick, 79.

According to Kandiyohi County Sheriff Dan Hartog, officials have determined that Warwick was killed at the residence. There have been no arrests in the case and law enforcement officials are investigating and asking the public for more information.

Warwick lived alone at the residence along the 3000 block of East Highway 12, just outside of the city limits of Willmar. The Sheriff’s Office was called just after 5 p.m. Monday to check on her welfare. When deputies arrived, they found Warwick was deceased.

The State Bureau of Criminal Apprehension’s mobile crime lab was called to the scene, where officials determined that the death was a homicide.

Both the Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 320-235-1260.
