Granite Falls woman killed Monday, authorities searching for a person of interest

ST. PAUL — The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and Granite Falls Police are looking for a person of interest in an apparent homicide that occurred Monday in Granite Falls.

Granite Falls Police responded to a 911 call in the 1100 block of Prentice Street Monday at approximately 3:30 a.m. Officers discovered a 28-year-old woman dead of apparent gunshot wounds, and a critically injured 28-year-old man. He was taken to Granite Falls Hospital by ambulance and later transported by air to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.

During the preliminary investigation, Andrew Joseph Dikken, 28, of Granite Falls, was identified as a person of interest. Dikken is believed to be driving a 1996 brown GMC Sierra “club cab” pickup with a topper and Minnesota license number 032-GGL.

Law enforcement is currently seeking Dikken, who should not be approached as he may be armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Granite Falls Police Department or the Yellow Medicine Sheriff ’s Office.

The incident remains under investigation.
