Detroit Lakes couple hurt in Clarkfield crash

CLARKFIELD — Two people from Detroit Lakes were taken by ambulance to Granite Falls Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash reported around 12:10 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of U.S. Highway 59 and State Highway 67 in Clarkfield.

According to the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office, a vehicle driven by Gary Nulph, 72, of Detroit Lakes, failed to yield to a vehicle driven by Daniel Kleine, 25, of Brookings, S.D. Nulph was northbound on Highway 59 and Kleine was westbound on Highway 67.

Nulph and his passenger, Kay Nulph, were taken for medical treatment. Kleine and his passenger, Hope Kinner, of Elkton, S.D., were not injured.

Also responding were the Clarkfield ambulance and fire departments and the Granite Falls Ambulance. The case is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.

Property damage

WILLMAR — Inappropriate words and images, apparently drawn on business and vehicle windows with markers, were reported by multiple parties starting around 8:45 a.m. Saturday along the 400 block of First Street South. Police also received a similar report along the 600 block of 27th Avenue Southwest.

WILLMAR — Damage to windows and the theft of lumber was reported around 7:30 p.m. Friday along the 800 block of Fourth Street Southwest.

WILLMAR — Damage to a garage door was reported around 12:30 p.m. Saturday along the 200 block of Havana Street Northeast.

Dog bite

WILLMAR — Police received a report of a boy being bitten by a dog around 8:45 p.m. Friday along the 600 block of Fourth Street Southeast.


SPICER — A 41-year-old man was arrested on charges of domestic assault around 11:45 p.m. Friday along the 100 block of Lake Avenue South.
