Wild sends two players to minors

The Minnesota Wild reduced their roster to 25 players Monday, assigning right wing Matt Foy and left wing Peter Olvecky to their top minor league affiliate in Houston.

Foy played in the AHL last season, tallying 25 points in 69 games with the Aeros. He was taken in the sixth round by the Wild in the 2002 draft.

Olvecky, 19, was named Rookie of the Year in the Slovakia Elite League last season.

Teams must be down to 23 players by the start of the regular season on Oct. 5.
