LITCHFIELD -- Shirley Jane Johnson, 71, of Litchfield died Friday at the St. Cloud Hospital.

The service is at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church in Litchfield.

Visitation is at the church for one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home of Litchfield.

She was born July 30, 1934, in Cosmos to Lewis and Mary Ellen (Fisher) Hanson. She grew up in the Cosmos area and attended school there. She later lived and worked in the Litchfield and Hutchinson area.

In the early 1950s she married Donald Elmer Johnson. They moved to Caledonia in 1958. They also lived in Spring Lake Park and Johnsville for a few years before moving to the Grove City area in 1969. In 1978 they moved to Litchfield, where she worked as a nurse's aide from 1950 until 1978 while working other jobs as well. In 1979 she began working for 3M in Hutchinson.

She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and was one of the original members of the Northwest Saddle Club. She was also a member of First Lutheran Church, serving in the women's circle.

She is survived by her children: Dan E. (and Kim) Johnson of Litchfield and Patti Johnson (and special friend Daniel Day) of Litchfield; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers: Donald (and Jean) Hanson of Dassel, Leo (and Sharon) Hanson of Darwin and Gerry (and Leona) Hanson of Grove City; and a sister: Carol (and Wayne) Larson of Litchfield.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, one sister and a son and daughter in infancy.
