LOUISBURG -- Elmo Woodrow Sorenson, 84, of Louisburg died Tuesday at the Madison Hospital.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Louisburg Lutheran Church. Burial will be at the Louisburg Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be this afternoon and evening until 7 p.m. at Zahrbock Funeral Chapel in Madison.
He was born Feb. 26, 1922, in rural Louisburg to Martin and Thea (Ronglien) Sorenson. He attended rural school at District 41, near his parents' farm.
He married Lorraine Mason on Jan. 25, 1947. He farmed and then worked as a heavy equipment operator for Michaelson Brothers Contruction. He also worked for Minge Construction. He retired and continued to help local farmers.
He was a member of the Louisburg Lutheran Church and the International Union of Operating Engineers.
He is survived by his wife; children: Michael (and Joanne) Sorenson of Sumner, Wash., Yvonne (and James) Truckenmiller of Crystal, Patricia Thompson of Appleton, LeAnn Stone of Bellingham, Lori Schlueter (and Loyal Anderson) of Detroit Lakes, Connie Robertson of Eden Prairie; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one brother: Milton (and Donna) Sorenson of Litchfield.
He was preceded in death by one son: Curtis; three brothers and an infant sister.
