Broadband project teeters on brink; Kandiyohi County officials still hopeful

GRANITE FALLS -- Joseph Preston "Joey" Fry, 20, of Hanley Falls died Friday at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale as the result of an auto accident earlier in the week.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Granite Falls Lutheran Church. Burial will be in East Yellow Medicine Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. The Lynner Funeral Home of Clarkfield is in charge of arrangements.

He was born Aug. 31, 1986, in Granite Falls to Steven and LaDonna (Sharkey) Fry. He graduated from Yellow Medicine East High School in Granite Falls in 2005. During high school and following graduation, he was employed as a feed mill operator by the Cottonwood Feed Mill.

He was a member of Hanley Falls Lutheran Church and played Luther League softball. He was an organ donor.

He is survived by his parents of Hanley Falls; siblings: Stevie (and Katie) Fry, Brandon Fry and Stephanie Fry, all of Hanley Falls; and grandfather: Bill Sharkey.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Wanda Sharkey, Raymond and Dorothy Fry.
