Regal turns back NL-Spicer, 4-2

REGAL -- Chris Beier threw seven strong innings, and then shifted to third base where he started a game-ending double play to snuff a New London-Spicer rally and allow Regal to polish off the Twins 4-2 Sunday.

The Twins had drawn two walks off reliever Shane Radermacher with one out in the top of the ninth. Austen Hadley was brought in from shortstop in relief and his first pitch was hit sharply to Beier, who stepped on third and threw to first for the Twin killing.

Regal finishes the Cornbelt North schedule 6-10 and 10-11 overall.

The Eagles got three in the second on Austin Kampsen's RBI double and a Josh Krupke single worth two runs. Krupke later singled in the Eagles' fourth run.

Seth Rosendahl and Jack Hartley had RBI hits for NLS. Other than one inning, losing pitcher Ben Kulset kept the Regal bats fairly quiet.

Beier fanned 11 and allowed six hits and one run over his seven innings.
