BUFFALO -- Thelma Ellingson Preuss, 91, of Kimball, formerly of Benson, died Saturday at Buffalo Hospital in Buffalo.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Benson. Burial will be in Benson City Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are by Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson.

She was born March 2, 1917, in Camp Lake Township, Swift County, to Anders C. and Rachel (Simonson) Anderson. She attended country school through the eighth grade.

She married David Ellingson on July 9, 1935, in Benson. He died in 1962.

She married Roland Preuss on April 16, 1966. She was a homemaker and also worked at the Benson Hospital, Wonderalls in Willmar and Breen's Drug Store in Benson.

She was a member of Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Benson and the Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children: Donald (and Jan) Ellingson of New London, Darlene Hagen of Boise, Idaho, and Sharon (and Richard) Capes of Kimball; a son-in-law: Michael Mattheisen of Paynesville; a daughter-in-law: Judi Ellingson of Willmar; six stepchildren: Richard (and Sue) Preuss of Enid, Okla., Robert Preuss of Montana, David Preuss of Coon Rapids, Galen Preuss of Anchorage, Alaska, Ramona Sunstrom of Wadena and Sharon (and Chuck) Rhodes of Grantsburg, Wis.; 28 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and 11 stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters: Louise Mattheisen and Ruby "Solberg" Sampson; one son: Robert Ellingson; two brothers; and two sisters.
