WILLMAR -- A 22-year-old man from St. Joseph was arrested in Willmar Friday morning after a domestic dispute was reported in the 700 block of Third Street Southeast.

Charges pending include domestic assault, criminal damage to property and obstruction of the legal process. The suspect also had a warrant out from Stearns County for his arrest.

WILLMAR -- Two citations for underage drinking were handed out after Willmar Police were called to break up a fight shortly before 1 a.m. Friday in the 400 block of Second Street Southeast.

The fight had moved from a house out into the yard. No injuries were reported.

ST. CLOUD -- Two St. Paul women were arrested on drug charges Friday in Waite Park, capping an investigation that originated in the Willmar area with the CEE-VI Drug Task Force.

The suspects, ages 18 and 55, were arrested following a sting operation. The Central Minnesota Drug and Gang Task Force coordinated with CEE-VI to set up a buy involving eight ounces of methamphetamine, worth $18,000 on the street.

The women are being held in the Stearns County Jail pending arraignment in Seventh District Court.


WILLMAR -- Two pairs of Nike basketball shoes were reported stolen Friday from the boys' locker room at Willmar High School.


WILLMAR -- Willmar Police were called to Rice Memorial Hospital's emergency room Thursday evening, where a 22-year-old man had sought treatment after being assaulted on Litchfield Avenue.

The victim said he was attacked by a group of three or four people. Police are investigating.


WILLMAR -- Gang graffiti was reported Friday morning at a fourplex apartment on 16th Street Northeast. The black paint was sprayed on a garage door and cement driveway.

Horse rescue

SPICER -- Kandiyohi County sheriff's deputies rescued a horse Friday morning after it strayed onto an icy pond near its pasture along 105th Avenue Northwest, west of Lake Florida.

The animal was unable to get up and off the ice on its own. Deputies were able to pull it back to safe ground.
