Art classes and workshops

Art classes/groups

Ruth MacKenzie, a singer and playwright, will present "Finding Your Voice" at 1 p.m. March 8 at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Willmar. The 2½-hour workshop is a time for sharing, storytelling, song and ritual, all confirming our voice: the expression of one's essence in the world. MacKenzie has been dubbed the "Janis Joplin of folk" by the Berkeley Express and has performed concerts throughout the United States and the Nordic countries. Sought after for her interpretation of lyrics and the many textures of her rich alto voice, she most recently was a featured performer on Prairie Home Companion, with Peter Ostroushko's Heartland Band and the tour show Gales of November with Prudence Johnson and Claudia Schmidt. A freewill donation will be received.
