BENSON -- The Swift County Sheriff's Office is investigating a report at 2:19 a.m. Sunday of a fight in progress involving a knife and multiple persons on the 400 block of Idaho Avenue in Kerkhoven.

Sheriff's deputies and a Benson police officer responded. The alleged suspect was not located. No one was arrested, said Sheriff Scott Mattison.

At 2:54 a.m., while deputies were still investigating the incident in Kerkhoven, the sheriff's office received a report of a possibly-related fight in progress involving multiple persons on the 700 block of Paulina Street in Murdock.

Sheriff's deputies and a Benson police officer responded. An adult male who fled the scene was alleged to have been struck in the head with an axe handle and a car window was alleged to have been smashed during the incident.

No arrests were made and the incident is being investigated.

WILLMAR -- Willmar police received a report on Sunday afternoon of the theft of a Heritage Bank debit card. The card was stolen from Highland Apartments.


WILLMAR -- The windshield and driver's side window were smashed on a truck parked in the 600 block of Ninth Street Southeast, according to a report made Monday morning to Willmar police. Also, the rear driver's side tire was damaged, a tool box was opened but nothing was taken, and an antenna was stolen.
