Man arrested after robbery of Willmar Prescription Center

WILLMAR -- A man is being held in the Kandiyohi County Jail on charges of aggravated robbery, theft and possession of controlled substances for allegedly robbing the Prescription Center around 5:30 p.m. Friday.

According to a news release from the Willmar Police Department, James Howard Stellman was located by a Kandiyohi County Sheriff's deputy shortly after the incident and was arrested.

The county dispatch center received a call just after 5:30 p.m. from an employee of the Prescription Center who said that a man had brandished a gun and demanded prescription drugs. The caller gave a description of the man, his vehicle and his direction of travel.

A search warrant was executed on Stellman's vehicle and a handgun and clothing matching the description were located, along with prescription medications.
