William Dowdell of Willmar wins Auto Racing Challenge for Sharpie 500 race
William Dowdell of Willmar is the local winner of the Wctrib.com's Auto Racing Challenge in the Sharpie 500 held Aug. 16 at Michigan International Speedway Brooklyn, Mich.
Becker earn 722 points in the Auto Racing Challenge and won a free oil change from sponsor Tires Plus of Willmar.
Michael Olson of Montevideo finished second with 795 points and Doug Dummer of Lake Lillian finished third with 790 points.
Kelly Boldan was the VIP winner with 719 points.

The next NASCAR race featured on Auto Racing Challenge is the Pep Boys Auto 500 scheduled on Sept. 6 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in Atlanta. The Pep Boys Auto 500 will be the track's first NASCAR Sprint Cup night race. Expect a heated competition, as NASCAR's top drivers compete for late-season points before entering the Chase for the Sprint Cup.
