St. Louis Park homicide suspect is arrested on Hwy. 23 near Hawick

HAWICK -- A 56-year-old man wanted in the stabbing death of a St. Louis Park woman was arrested early Wednesday morning along State Highway 23 near Hawick.

Several press reports have identified the man as Howard Charles Deboise. He is alleged to have fatally stabbed his wife around 6 p.m. Tuesday at a home in St. Louis Park.

According to Kandiyohi County Sheriff Dan Hartog, dispatchers received a call around 12:22 a.m. Wednesday that the driver of a vehicle stopped along the highway may need help. The responding deputy located the man, got some information from him and related that information to the county dispatch center.

A check of the man's name revealed that St. Louis Park authorities were looking for him, Hartog said. Deboise was arrested and taken to the sheriff's office, where St. Louis Park officials picked him up between 3:30 and 4 a.m. Wednesday morning.
