NEW LONDON -- A recliner caught fire Sunday, causing smoke damage to a mobile home on Lake Andrew, west of New London.

The fire was reported at 11:46 a.m. on the 300 block of South Andrew Drive after the homeowner, who was outside at the time, noticed smoke coming from the door of the home.

The New London Fire Department responded and the fire was quickly extinguished. There was no damage to the home, Fire Chief Sig Holme said. There was smoke damage however. Personnel were on the scene for about 40 minutes.


WILLMAR -- An employee at Best Buy, 2323 First St. South, reported cash was removed from his wallet Friday while at work.

WILLMAR -- A 23-year old Hawick man was arrested Friday in connection with a vehicle being reported stolen in Jamestown, N.D., and later discovered in the 3000 block of Northwest Third Avenue in Willmar. The suspect faces charges of receiving stolen property, bringing stolen goods into the state and driving after suspension.

WILLMAR --A knee board valued at $80 and a two-person tube valued at $200 was reported stolen at 12:51 p.m. Sunday from a boat in the 1000 block of Southeast Becker Avenue.

Found property

PENNOCK -- A small refrigerator that possibly contained veterinary supplies was found Friday after being dumped on vacant property in the 2000 block of Northwest 75th Street. Sheriff's deputies collected the items as evidence.
