Burglaries reported in Kandiyohi

KANDIYOHI -- Multiple burglaries of occupied homes were reported Thursday morning along the north side of Kandiyohi.

Nine reports were made to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office of burglaries in the city of Kandiyohi regarding a person or persons entering occupied homes while the owners were sleeping, according to a news release from the Sheriff's Office.

The locations were burglarized Wednesday night or Thursday morning, with someone entering the garage or home and taking wallets, cash and checkbooks. Some items believed to have been stolen were located in a field north of town.

It is believed all entries were made through unlocked doors, the Sheriff's Office said in the release, and authorities remind people to keep all doors and main-floor windows secure.

Recovered property

KANDIYOHI -- A stolen ATV and go-kart were recovered around 5:25 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of 45th Avenue and 83rd Street Southeast after a citizen called to report that someone had dumped property on their land. The ATV and go-kart were returned to the rightful owner.


WILLMAR -- A 21-year-old Olivia woman was arrested on charges of driving while impaired around 1:15 a.m. Thursday along the 200 block of Anthony Street Southeast.

WILLMAR -- A 18-year-old Willmar male was arrested on charges of driving while impaired around 3:40 a.m. Thursday near the intersection of High Avenue and Hawaii Street. The arrest came after a citizen reported a motor vehicle crash.
