Stacey Roberts resigns as executive director of United Way of West Central Minnesota

WILLMAR -- Stacey Roberts has resigned after a 10-year role as executive director of the United Way of West Central Minnesota, the organization's board of directors announced this morning.

Her resignation is effective Nov. 17 and comes in the midst of the 2010 Community Campaign Goal of $915,000.

Roberts cited increasing demand on her time and a desire to maintain a better work and life balance as the reasons for her decision. "I have had the privilege to work with awesome staff, volunteers, business and community leaders,'' she said in a release announcing her decision.

Roberts has been credited with helping increase the annual campaign from $500,000 to $930,000. She also launched new initiatives that expanded participation in United Way and increased the area it served to West Central Minnesota.

"Although we are saddened by Stacey's decision to leave, we are grateful for her service to United Way and our surrounding communities,'' said Steve Lykken, United Way board president.

United Way of West Central Minnesota will continue to work toward the $915,000 campaign goal and work to create lasting change for the region. The Board of Directors will be developing a search committee to hire a new director within the coming months.
