SVEA -- A motorist sustained minor injuries Friday afternoon when his vehicle left the road and crashed into a stand of trees at Kandiyohi County roads 3 and 11 just north of Svea. Authorities said he may have passed out before the crash.
Randall Egge, 43, of Lake Lillian, was taken by private car to Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. The crash, which was reported shortly after 1 p.m., was investigated by the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office.
WILLMAR -- Minor injuries were reported after a driver went off the road and hit a tree and a mailbox Saturday morning in the 1700 block of Fifth Street Southwest. A Willmar Police officer called 911 after coming across the crash scene at 8:45 a.m. Saturday.
Philip R. Davis, 44, of Alexandria, was taken to Rice Memorial Hospital for treatment.
WILLMAR -- Multi-tasking behind the wheel led to some awkward moments early Saturday morning for a 22-year-old Willmar man.
Shortly after midnight, Willmar Police were called to check out a vehicle that was stopped in the middle of the road with its flashers on at Oxford Drive and 23rd Street Southeast.
The car's driver told police he had been driving, drinking coffee and smoking when he spilled his coffee, causing him to drop his cigarette which then sparked a small fire inside the car. There was no need to call the fire department, however -- the fire was extinguished by the spilled beverage.
WILLMAR -- Authorities are investigating a theft and burglary reported Sunday morning at a residence in the 500 block of Kandiyohi County Road 27 Northeast. DVDs, clothing and toys were taken from the garage some time on Saturday.
