MPCA awards $4M in grants and loans for water quality projects
ST. PAUL -- Two area projects aimed at improving water quality in the Crow River and Lac qui Parle River basins were among those recently awarded funding, according to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency in an announcement on Monday.
- A $141,850 grant to the Lac qui Parle - Yellow Bank Watershed District for the Ten Mile Creek protection plan for turbidity.
- A $495,912 grant and $1.2 million loan to the Crow River Organization of Water in the Upper Mississippi River basin for the Crow River watershed surface water runoff protection program.
Created by the Minnesota Legislature in 1987, the Clean Water Partnership program provides financial and technical assistance to diagnose and address threats to water resources.
