- Victoria Nicole Cepeda, 19, of Olivia, was sentenced Monday to a year of probation and 365 days in jail on a charge for aiding an offender.

Although Cepeda pleaded guilty to a felony, as part of a plea agreement, she was sentenced according to gross misdemeanor guidelines and convicted of a gross misdemeanor. She was given credit for three days served in jail and the remaining 362 days were stayed, along with $500 of her $1,000 fine.

According to the complaint, a warrant was issued on May 13 for Bobby Cuellar on a probation violation on a Chippewa County burglary case. A Willmar officer had stopped by Cepeda's apartment complex several times looking for Cuellar. The officer had also talked with tenants of the apartment and learned that Cuellar and Cepeda were seen together there. The officer later had contact with Cepeda, who denied seeing Cuellar for at least a week and a half.

The next day, a citizen reported seeing both go into an apartment. The officer went to the apartment, arrested Cuellar and later found Cepeda hiding and also arrested her.

- Christopher Michael Mead, 21, of Willmar, made his first appearance Monday on two felony charges of domestic assault and violation of a harassment restraining order.

Unconditional bail was set at $40,000. Conditional release was allowed on his personal recognizance. His next appearance is Dec. 27.

According to the complaint, Willmar Police were called around noon Friday to a home in the southwest quadrant of the city for a domestic assault. A woman there reported that Mead had come to a residence to pick up some clothing, which had been set in the entryway. She said Mead attempted to force the interior door open and hit a man in the head with his fist. She also said that Mead had thrown an ice scraper at the man, striking him in the head. The man confirmed the allegations. Another woman had a harassment restraining order against Mead, which prohibited him from entering the home.

He has prior juvenile convictions for assault in January 2004 and December 2005 and terroristic threats in July 2005, plus an adult conviction for domestic assault in July 2009.
