Wind chill advisory remain in place for west central Minnesota

A wind chill advisory remains in effect this morning for much of west central Minnesota, according to the National Weather Service in Chanhassen.

The wind chill advisory continues for western Minnesota through 9 a.m. this morning. The wind chill advisory is generally along and west of a line from Little Falls to Hutchinson to Fairmont.

West to southwest winds of 5 to 15 mph will combine with temperatures of 5 to 10 below zero to produce wind chills near 25 below across much of the western half of Minnesota.

The forecast for the Willmar area is a 20 percent chance of light snow after noon today. It will be partly sunny, with high near 10. Wind chill will remain between 15 to 25 below zero, with southwest wind between 5 to 8 mph.

Tonight's forecast is for a slight chance of lighg snow before midnight, then a chance of flurries.

Monday's forecast has a 40 percent chance of snow. Cloudy, with a high near 16. Wind chill values between 1 to 9 below. Calm wind becoming west northwest between 8 to 11 mph.
