OLIVIA -- A 24-year-old driver escaped injury when she lost control of her vehicle on U.S. Highway 212 east of Olivia and rolled onto the driver's side and in the north ditch around 7:31 a.m. on Saturday.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Krystal Mattison, of Newport, was proceeding west on the highway in a 2001 Daewoo Leganza passenger car.

SPICER -- A 15-year-old driver escaped serious injury after the car she was driving left the roadway and flipped over near the intersection of Northeast County Road 9 and 104th Avenue near West and East Twin Lakes, west of Spicer. The accident was reported at 11:27 p.m. Friday.

The driver of the 2006 Chevrolet Impala has an instructor's permit and is a few days short of her 16th birthday.

Snowmobile accident

ATWATER -- A 43-year-old Atwater man was charged with driving while impaired after the snowmobile he was driving was involved in an accident near the intersection of Quince Street and County Road 40 near New London shortly before midnight on Saturday. No injuries were reported.

Willmar hit and run investigated

WILLMAR -- Police are investigating a report that a red, two-door vehicle, possibly a Chevrolet Cavalier or similar vehicle, struck another vehicle at a high rate of speed at a city intersection and continued to drive away.

The hit-and-run accident was reported by the 35-year-old driver of a 2000 Chevrolet who said he was struck around 10:06 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Elizabeth Avenue Southeast and Robert Street. He reported entering the intersection slowly after seeing that it was clear, and then being struck by a fast-moving vehicle proceeding north on Robert Street.

The suspect vehicle is described as red with pin stripes and driven by a white male in his 40s or 50s with black hair.

Disorderly conduct

SPICER -- Law officers were called and charged a 29-year-old Belgrade man with disorderly conduct and obstructing the legal process at O'Neil's in Spicer at 1:16 a.m. Sunday.


NEW LONDON -- A window on a vehicle parked at the New London-Spicer High School was vandalized. It was discovered at 12:24 a.m. Saturday.

WILLMAR -- A window on an apartment on the 300 block of Lakeland Drive Southeast was smashed when a large piece of ice was tossed through it around 8:37 p.m. Friday.


WILLMAR -- A 19-year-old woman faces possible charges for assault and disorderly conduct for an incident reported after 6 p.m. Friday at the Affiliated Community Medical Centers urgent care center on Willmar Avenue Southwest in Willmar.

Police were called to the site after it was reported that two women were fighting at the center. The suspect took off in a gold-colored Grand Am, witnesses reported.
