Lamberton meeting on March 24 to address rural energy efficiency

LAMBERTON -- The Minnesota Project, along with partners from Clean Energy Resource Teams, Redwood Electric Cooperative, South Central Electric Cooperative and USDA Rural Development, will host a meeting on March 24 at the Southwest Research and Outreach Center near Lamberton to talk about how farmers and other rural businesses can improve their energy efficiency and lower their utility bills.

Redwood Electric and South Central Electric will present information about the various rebates and incentives rural electric cooperatives have available to help share the costs of efficiency improvements and The Minnesota Project will present a list of the easiest, cheapest ways to lower your utility bills through increased energy efficiency.

In addition, the meeting will also include a presentation from industry experts on the potential benefits of installing a geothermal system on your operation. Finally, a representative from USDA Rural Development will present information on their Rural Energy for America, or "REAP" program, which provides grants for renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.
