Belgrade man elected president of MN Corn Growers

SHAKOPEE -- John Mages, of Belgrade, was elected president of the Minnesota Corn Growers Association.

The grassroots farmer organization made the announcement today.

Mages, 54, raises corn and soybeans on his farm in Belgrade.

He has been involved in leadership positions with Minnesota Corn Growers Association for nearly six years, most recently serving as vice president.

Tom Haag of Eden Valley was elected as vice president.

Ryan Buck of Goodhue was elected for a second term as treasurer and Bruce Peterson of Northfield will serve as secretary.

Their terms began Oct. 1 and run through Sept. 30, 2012.
